I feel a little embarrassed about this post, but part of my therapy is driving this, and opening up and sharing more of my life and nothing but positivity. Something I have never done before and kept hidden under a cloak.
My current position has brought back travel that I used to frequent once a month. It really is coming at a good time with new discovery with regards to my son, who I havenβt talked to in over 10+ years. The Lord provides blessings in many ways and this information, although helpful and hurtful, is part of the healing process. Iβm here for it and taking it to forge my journey forward through the darkness and to a new light.
So, this quick trip is a well needed distraction and I really do enjoy the travel and racking up the π points for future endeavors. I used to travel to Colorado once a month for a meeting and thoroughly enjoyed the trips. I made this trip multiple years and have seen everything from waking up to 6β of snow drifts to blazing hot summers. But I always just enjoyed meeting new counterparts, networking and putting a face to a name and mixing it up with IPT leads from other parts of the country and military personnel.
Sometimes this meeting moves locations and even though I live in the greater metropolitan Los Angeles area, it comes here on a rotation. I still donβt want to deal with the I-405 traffic and choose to stay in a hotel close to the meeting sight in Los Angeles. If you know about the 405 freeway, you would feel my pain and understand, that even though in my backyard, itβs just not worth commuting for 2 days, dealing with that freaking parking-lot we call a freeway. Didnβt we just spend 70 Million to improve on THIS freewayπ€ I digress and back to topic.
My meetings although most of the day including a 2 hour lunch were really positive and I have allot of pertinent information to share with my direct team. So weird being so close to home but staying in a Hotel. I know that the Hilton gym will occupy some of my time, till ready for some dinner and an added bonus, this Hilton is brand-spanking-new. Plus, if I can ever find the pillows and comforter that they have here. I would buy them in a heart beat, I digress ( so hard for me to stay on topic, with so much on my mind)
The remainder will be done getting caught up on my current obsession β OUTLANDER. Iβm finally almost caught up and almost ready for Season-7 after taking a few month hiatus.
I must say this is not my normal type of show that I would get into. Iβm more of a Sci-Fi and Mystery/Action kinda cat. But something about Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser romance captivated my interest and propelled me to be taken back to the late 1600βs and the Jacobites being a group of strong Scottish people who supported James VII of Scotland.
I was intrigued by both characters and their never-ending love for one another through unthinkable levels of pain and suffering. I have so many questions about both characters especially Claire. I was happy to hear that a book series is coming out in 2024, as I need a good book to read. I need to get out more as I know there has to be an Outlander Club or group chat or something ππ
Workout done and a few more episodes and thatβs a wrap. Now itβs time for dinner. I decided to go to a place that holds fond memories, and the food is amazing. If you are ever in the Redondo Beach area, I highly recommend https://www.chart-house.com/location/chart-house-redondo-beach-ca as a destination of choice for fine dining. Something about the restaurant sitting on the ocean with large pain windows, and old world charm, gives it this obeyance of class and a mystique of familiarity that depicts memories of the past. I started off with a drink with some mystery itself as a true botanical orchid is infused into a cocktail using a 3-piece Diffuser and thermal propulsion and the Engineer in me was all in!
Adding smoke to cocktails not only enhances the flavour but engages all the senses. Just the process alone was intriguing and the use of gravity and smoke pulling the flavor up and around the orchid like a forbidden dance, downright made it erotic!
I had a nice Alaskan King Crab dinner compliments of my per diem, matched with asparagus and sizzling mushrooms with Truffle-butter sauce. Too stuffed for dessert. Even my gym regiment couldnβt offset the food-coma I currently have.

I left the restaurant and walked down to the beach. It brought me back to when I used to go to ZUMA beach early Saturday mornings and just meditate, listening to the impulsive power of the ocean, as it runs into the land with a repetitive reduction. I really need to get back to that place!
Well, time to say Good-Bye and I didnβt leave my wallet in El- Segundo (Tribe Called Quest- If ya know-ya know)β¦β¦.
